Shuttle proved the existence of Tunguska meteorite
U.S. scientists have found yet another proof that the Tunguska meteorite explosion was the result of a meeting of Earth comet nucleus. This was reported in the press release, Cornell University, who participated in the work, a paper appeared in the scientific journal Geophysical Research Letters.

As part of the work of researchers interested in the so-called mezosfernye ( mesosphere – region of the atmosphere at an altitude of 50-90 km) clouds, which are clearly visible at night and occur in latitudes between 50 and 60 degrees north or south latitude. They represent an accumulation of ice crystals formed at a height of over 85 kilometers at a low temperature.

The researchers found that mezosfernye cloud sometimes observed after the launch of shuttle: Similar cases have been recorded in 1997, 2003 and 2007. According to researchers, the clouds are the result of the fact that during the shuttle launch in the thermosphere (the atmosphere at altitudes from 90 to 800 kilometers) emitted about 300 tons of water vapor. From there it enters the vapor mesosphere, where the clouds are formed.

The researchers examined the historical evidence of the “sky glow”, which occurred after the fall of Tunguska meteorite in 1908. Experts have suggested that light is a just mezosfernye cloud formed after the destruction of ice, which was the nucleus of a comet, in the upper atmosphere.

The only thing not yet explained by scientists the case of the shuttle launch – this is a mechanism that not dispels the clouds of steam, and moves them “unharmed” by a considerable distance, the Lenta.ru. The point is that Cape Canaveral is located at a latitude below 30 degrees and the clouds mezosfernye, as mentioned above, is not observed at latitudes below 50 degrees. Tunguska meteorite explosion occurred just above the 60 parallel.

Researchers suggest that the transfer of a pair may be responsible turbulent flows. Experts estimate that the rate of particle transport water should be about 100 meters per second.

Tunguska meteorite is one of the biggest mysteries of the XX century. Jun 17, 1908 in the area of the river Podkamennaya Tunguska explosion occurred on the capacity of 10-40 megatons. Blast was registered in observatories around the world. There are currently dominated by the hypothesis that this event was the result of an explosion above the Earth’s surface the cometary nucleus.
