The technology, which will forever change the Network
Cisco has introduced a new router for large Internet service providers. Device Cisco Carrier Routing System (CRS) 3 will be able to handle 12 times more data than the previous generation, according to an official press release.

The new device, on assurances Cisco is the most productive on the speed and volume data processing. According to CEO John Chambers (John Chambers), CRS-3 will be the basis for next generation Internet. By his estimation, the future of the Network is to develop video technology.

The new device can be used to supply end-users gigabit Internet channels. For example, one router will be enough to ensure that such channels nearly all private homes in San Francisco, one of the largest cities in the U.S.. Currently, users typically provided Internet channel bandwidth of 10/100 megabits per second.

Peak bandwidth CRS-3 is 322 terabits per second. This volume of data is sufficient to simultaneously provide video communications over 1,3 billion people in China, and four minutes to transmit over the network everything ever released feature films. For comparison, the capacity of the CRS-1 amounted to 92 terabits per second, broadcasts Lenta.Ru.

During the campaign, anticipating the launch of the router, Cisco reported that provide technology that will forever change the Network. During testing, a Cisco router in the network AT & T, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the U.S., CRS-3 was used to create the world’s first backbone network capacity of 100 gigabits per second. Younger unit in the line of routers CRS-3 will cost 90 thousand dollars.
