Astronauts spilled ammonia EVAs
January 11, 2005 – 9:35 pmThe International Space Station (ISS) during repair the cooling system of solar panels was an insignificant leak of liquid ammonia circulating in hoses outside the station. Leakage quickly eliminated.
Michael Lopes-Alegria and Sunita Williams held in the open space more than seven hours. In return astronauts on board had delayed for another half hour in the lock chamber to make sure that no ammonia got to offer.
Lopes-Alegria and Williams have done a great deal of work to switch the cooling system of one of the modules at the temporary station permanent. In addition, the astronauts removed radiators and solar cells on the surface of consolidated their station.
Astronavty fulfilled all of the basic tasks, except for the last job, they were not able to unplug the second line of cool.
